The Shiranui Tangerine is a hybrid between a Ponkan tangerine and a Kiyomi tangor, that was created in Japan. Later it was given a name Decopon. In the United States it was trademarked as Sumo Citrus® in 2011. It was favored by american consumers for its bright, sweet taste, seedless flesh, and easy-to-peel nature.
Taste: The flesh has a firm but soft and succulent consistency, the flavor is rich, refreshing, fruity, balanced sweet and tangy.
