Calamansi (Citrus × microcarpa), also known as Calamondin, is a citrus hybrid native to China, cultivated predominantly in the Philippines. The fruits are used to flavor foods in Southeast Asian cuisine or to make a "Filipino lemonade". The tree is perfect to grow in a container.

 

Taste: The flesh is tart, pleasantly sour and acidic, and the flavor is aromatic with a bright, floral scent. The peel is also edible. It contains a tangy, slightly sweeter taste than the flesh.

Fruit size: Small (1 - 2 inches in diameter)

Season: Year-round, with a peak season in the winter through spring.
