The Kishu Tangerine (Citrus kinokuni) is originally from Southern China. Most Kishu varieties have been cultivated in Japan. Budwood from cultivars were brought from Japan to America in 1983. Kishu mandarins are easy to peel and good to grow in the containers.

 

Taste: The orange flesh is juicy and candy sweet, contain some acidity, creating a balanced, bright, sweet, and tangy flavor.

Tree size: 6 - 10 ft tall

Fruit size: Small (roughly the size of a golf ball)

Seeds per fruit: Seedless

Season: November - January

Zones: 8 - 11
