Atemoya is a hyrbid between Sugar Apple (Annona squamosa) and Cherimoya (Annona cherimola), and is a category of tropical fruits belonging to the Annonaceae family. Atemoyas were first bred in a laboratory in Florida.
The Lisa Atemoya produces heart-shaped fruits with a pink blush and slightly pink flesh. Sizes vary, offering both small and large fruits at harvest.
Taste: The flesh is sweet and creamy, with a custard-like texture that blends tropical notes of pineapple, vanilla, and banana. Some compare its flavor to a piña colada.
