Java plum, also known as Portuguese plum, Malabar plum, Black plum, Indian blackberry, Jaman, Jambu, Jambul, and Jambool , is a tropical fruit native to India and Southeast Asia.
 
The tree produces small, dark purple to black fruits with juicy, slightly tart flesh. Java plums are rich in vitamin C, iron, and antioxidants, and are used fresh or in jams, juices, and traditional desserts. The tree is hardy (resilient and well-suited for various growing conditions) and drought-tolerant.
