The Capulin Cherries are known by several regional names, including Capulin, Deste, Mexican Bird cherry, Capoli, Capuli, Capolin, Cerezo Criollo, and Tropic cherry. The small fruits develop in loose clusters of 15 to 20 cherries. The trees can bear more than one crop per season.

 

Taste: When ripe the cherries are dark in color, the variegated flesh has a subtly sweet-tart, sometimes astringent taste with a bitter finish.

Fruit size: 0.4 - 1.2 inch in diameter
